Kingdom Gorilla now protected by BWS Standfast. Many of you will have seen the 60 gorilla statues around Bristol this summer. Designed by a variety of artists, the gorillas were commissioned to celebrate Bristol Zoo’s 175th birthday and have given visitors and residents to the city a great deal of pleasure.
At the end of July however, rubbish was found burning under one of the gorillas in Clifton, Bristol. The gorilla, painted by TV personality, Timmy Mallett, was totally blackened. Timmy kindly returned to repaint the statue which is called, “Kingdom” – you will see why in the photo below!
Kingdom is now one of the “best protected gorillas in the world,” according to Clifton Traders since BWS Standfast was asked to provide CCTV cameras with 24 hour monitoring for this statue. We are delighted to be part of the project and the public in Clifton can once again enjoy their part of the city’s art installation.
